During my research on the perfect diet for my dog, I learned a lot. I learned about why we should not trust pet food companies. I also learned about that dogs are only 1% different than wolves. So dogs diet should closely match their ancestor’s.

It was a fascinating journey to learn about the history of pet food and what is best for dogs like Rigel. I found this gem recipe for a natural supplement that helps boost the immune system in dogs. “Turmeric contains a compound called curcumin – which is essentially its active ingredient. Curcumin has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, wound healing and anticancer activities. It can help fight diseases like arthritis, diabetes, cancer, liver disease, gastrointestinal issues, Alzheimers and more.” (Dogs Naturally)

It’s all natural and super easy to use, to boot!

I like to make this in advance and store it in the refrigerator to prolong it’s freshness. Rigel loves it. Sometimes I give it to him straight as a treat.

Now keep in mind that turmeric is a ‘warming’ spice. So if your dog is always hot or it’s realllllly hot outside, maybe hold back the turmeric. Replace it with apple cider vinegar until conditions are better.

For daily amounts, you can give 1 tsp of this paste for every 10 pounds your dog weight. If your dog poop is becoming sticky, dark, or mushy- maybe it’s too much turmeric paste.
